CHC President and CEO Speaks at Just Economy Conference

CHC President and CEO Jean Accius, PhD, recently spoke at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition Just Economy Conference in Washington, DC. He joined a panel for a session titled, “Collaborations in Health Equity: Integrating social determinants of health into your community.” The Just Economy Conference is the national event for community, business, foundation, policy and government leaders who want a nation that not only promises but delivers opportunities for all Americans to build wealth and live well. National and local luminaries, visionaries and changemakers gather to network, share ideas, learn and ask hard questions to chart out a better future.

“When we talk about social determinants of health… here in Washington, DC, in Georgetown, your life expectancy is 94 years old, just a few miles away in Anacostia, life expectancy is 64 years old.”- Jean Accius

Jean also joined Senator Cynthia Lummis, U.S. Senator from Wyoming, Rep. Debbie Dingell, Michigan’s 6th Congressional District and U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, U.S. Senator from Louisiana at related events this morning. CHC Board of Directors’ Joy Lewis, MSW, MPH, Senior Vice President, Health Equity Strategies and Executive Director, Institute for Diversity and Health Equity at the American Hospital Association also attended.
