Black Birthing Initiative Continues Support for Healthy Moms and Babies in Indianapolis

In June and July, the CHC team met with the Indiana Minority Health Coalition and Indianapolis Healthy Start, hosting focus groups and listening sessions to hear from community, staff, and birth workers (doulas, advocates), including Black pregnant women and birthing people. This work is part of CHC’s ongoing maternal health partnership with Elevance Health Foundation (formerly Anthem Foundation), focused on addressing the maternal health crisis and reducing preterm births, focusing on racism, stress, and unmet needs in Atlanta, Cleveland, and Indianapolis. Thank you to all these partners for their collaboration as CHC continues to address health inequities impacting Black pregnant women to reduce preterm births.
