Mental Health Mondays by Hilti

October is Mental Health Awareness Month and an ideal opportunity to focus on wellbeing at work, as part of creating healthier communities together. According to CHC partner the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 1 in 5 employees in the workplace is experiencing a mental health crisis. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States (CDC). And Americans are continuing to struggle with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues due to the pandemic, with the U.S. now seeing the highest levels of these issues since the pandemic first hit in March 2020. To shine a light on mental health and wellbeing at work, reduce stigma and aid those who may be in crisis, Hilti North America partnered with CHC to create Mental Health Mondays. This four-week series brings together three CHC nonprofit partners and Hilti North America employees to create an open forum to learn and ask questions.  Topics include How to Navigate Through Today’s Stressors – Eliminating Stigma presented by NAMI; Feeling Depressed vs. Diagnosed Depression – Tools and Support for Emotional Health presented by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance; and Suicide Prevention – How to Recognize Someone in Crisis presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

“When our employees are able to bring their whole selves to work, to feel safe, seen and heard; I feel they are more creative and productive. Mental Health is such an important topic. Awareness and reducing the stigma around this is key to saving lives and helping people become healthy.

Thank you to CHC for helping us provide a way to start the conversation with our team”, said Marci Donnelly, with the MO West Trade Marketing Team at Hilti North America.
