CHC Board Chair Kevin Clayton Recognized

At the May 19, 2022 Board of Directors meeting, CHC recognized outgoing Board Chair Kevin Clayton, vice president of diversity, inclusion and community engagement at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin’s outstanding leadership, contributions and commitment as CHC’s chief volunteer officer made a significant impact during two of the most transformative years in CHC’s 65-year history.

Kevin’s CHC board roles include: Board of Directors Chair, Governance and Leadership Development Chair, Board of Directors Member, Task Force on Health Equity Member, and FY23 Special Task Force Chair. Kevin has shared his expertise as a speaker at numerous CHC events, including Future of Health convenings, Charities@Work Employee Engagement Summit (where he also served on the advisory council), VoteAmerica Election Night Watch Party, corporate Diversity and Inclusion sessions, plus board meetings, executive sessions, staff sessions, trainings, townhalls and more.

In Kevin’s honor, the Cleveland Cavaliers and CHC board members and staff donated $11,000 to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, established by The V Foundation and ESPN in memory of Stuart Scott, a beloved and highly respected ESPN sportscaster and close friend of Kevin’s, who passed away from cancer in 2015. The fund aims to overcome inequities and disparities in cancer.

Nic Barlage, CEO of the Cavaliers, Rock Entertainment Group and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, and CHC President and CEO Thomas G. Bognanno announced the donation and presented Kevin with an award.
