CHC Appoints Morgan Zehner as the New Chief Growth Officer

With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Zehner brings an exceptional blend of expertise in fundraising, business development, and organizational leadership to the role. As a creative and entrepreneurial leader, he has successfully raised hundreds of millions of dollars for diverse nonprofit organizations , from climate change and community economic development to arts and higher education. His track record includes leading revenue generation efforts for organizations with annual revenues up to $6 billion, and developing cultures of philanthropy that propel long-term growth and social impact.

Prior to joining CHC, Zehner co-founded A to Z Concepts LLC, a firm that partners with nonprofits and start-ups to develop new business models, raise philanthropic funds, and nurture dynamic organizational cultures. He has also served in senior leadership roles, including Director of Development at the Great Plains Institute, where he raised $8 million annually across multiple fundraising channels. His ability to forge strategic partnerships, launch innovative fundraising initiatives, and lead high-performing teams makes him a perfect fit for advancing CHC’s mission and impact.

Throughout his career, Zehner has demonstrated a deep commitment to building inclusive and sustainable organizations. At Hennepin Theatre Trust, he played a pivotal role in raising $4 million of annual unrestricted revenue and closing the quiet phase of a $6 million capital campaign. As a consultant at Fox Advancement, he helped raise $30 million for nonprofit clients and led the firm’s thought leadership initiatives. He also co-founded SB Works, where his leadership in organizational development and strategic fundraising drove significant growth and impact.

In his new role as Chief Growth Officer, Zehner will be responsible for overseeing all growth strategies, including revenue pipeline development, fundraising planning, and cross-functional collaboration. His leadership will be instrumental in strengthening relationships with donors, advancing the organization’s brand positioning, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
