Neuro-Nurturing: Advancing Powerful Strategies for Lifelong Health, The Decade of the Child and Black Birthing Initiatives

Join leaders in healthcare, social services, nonprofit organizations, government, coalitions, and faith communities, along with funders from government or philanthropic organizations supporting change to learn how scaling up ecosystems to support Neuro-Nurturing practices can help an entire populations of babies start on a trajectory to good health, literacy, and wellbeing.

This webinar emphasizes proactive Neuro-Nurturing as a vital intervention for infant neurodevelopment and Early Relational Health. Deborah McNelis, author of “The First 60 Days,” will highlight how early experiences shape lifelong health, while Dr. Beatrice Beebe demonstrates the importance of parent-infant attunement.

In a prime example of scaling successful strategies for maternal and child health, Demetrius Geiger, program manager for CHC: Creating Healthier Communities (CHC), will share about the impact of CHC’s Black Birthing Initiative.

Dr. Christina Bethell, the Director of the Child & Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative (CAHMI), and public health professor at Johns Hopkins University, shares frameworks and tools such as the Well Visit Planner, in integrating Neuro-Nurturing and a whole child care model into healthcare systems across a state.

Dr. Diana Fishbein shares updates on The Decade of the Child initiative, a call for the transformational change our children need by comprehensively supporting our families and communities through collaborations across all sectors of society.

Bill Barberg, population health and system change expert, will share valuable approaches to implementing pragmatic, collaborative strategies for achieving positive impact at a community scale, highlighting strategies for engaging fathers in Neuro-Nurturing. Joshua Liston Zawadi, founder of Dad Doula University, will share his approach for engaging fathers in the birthing journey and in supporting early childhood development.
