National Heart Month: Join the Nation of Lifesavers
February is National Heart Month: a time to recognize the vital connection between healthy communities and heart health.
Each year, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital in the United States – and 90% of these are fatal. With over 150 local offices, our nonprofit partner, the American Heart Association, has set a goal to double the survival rate of cardiac arrest by 2030. If performed immediately, CPR could double or triple a person’s chance of survival. Education, including CPR training, is a key social determinant of health. The AHA’s Nation of Lifesavers initiative aims to turn bystanders into lifesavers, so that anyone, anywhere can be prepared and empowered to properly perform CPR. By equipping individuals with CPR training and life-saving knowledge, we can empower more people to take action when it matters most and create healthier, more resilient communities.
Join the Nation of Lifesavers by finding a CPR course, and learn more about our nonprofit partners here.
