How Elevance Health Foundation’s Investment Helped CHC to Reduce Preterm Births
We are honored to be among the recipients of Elevance Health Foundation’s commitment to advancing health equity. With a $7 million grant, CHC: Creating Healthier Communities launched the Black Birthing Initiative (BBI) to address disparities affecting Black pregnant women in Atlanta, Cleveland, and Detroit. By providing non-clinical support and tackling social drivers like housing instability, food insecurity, and stress, BBI has helped achieve a 90% full-term birth rate—far surpassing the national average. This funding has also enabled us to develop a groundbreaking screening tool to better support pregnant Black women and connect them with critical resources. Through partnerships and community-led solutions, we are working to ensure healthier pregnancies and better birth outcomes. Watch our video to learn more about BBI’s impact and the impact of Elevance Health’s generous investment in our communities.
