One of the many ways CHC nonprofit partner Doctors Without Borders provides lifesaving medical care where it’s needed most is by partnering with local volunteers and organizations.
Before the conflict began in Ukraine, Daria Samoilova was working as a lawyer in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city and one of the places most impacted by the war. Now, she works with Doctors Without Borders as a volunteer liaison—connecting with and overseeing partnerships between our teams and local groups.
Our teams throughout Ukraine are working with dozens of local organizations, with the help of local staff members like Daria—delivering thousands of food boxes and medications to remote villages where people are cut off from care by the war.
The incredible collaboration we’re seeing in Ukraine between Doctors Without Borders and local groups is just one example of what we have known for more than 50 years: we are stronger when we work together.
