CHC Joins More than 65 Organizations Advocating for Coverage of Obesity Care

CHC Joins the EveryBODY Covered Campaign to Advocate for Comprehensive Obesity Care Coverage

CHC: Creating Healthier Communities is proud to join 67 other leading healthcare organizations in signing an open letter as part of the EveryBODY Covered campaign, led by the Alliance for Women’s Health and Prevention (AWHP). This letter, delivered to executives at top workplaces for women, calls for comprehensive obesity care coverage in employee health plans—ensuring obesity is recognized and treated like any other chronic disease. Obesity has a significant impact on women’s health, careers, and financial well-being, making access to effective care an important priority for employers.

CHC envisions a world where every person in every community has an opportunity to live their healthiest life. Obesity not only has serious physical health implications but also affects financial stability and career advancement, with women affected by obesity earning significantly less and facing barriers to promotion. By supporting the EveryBODY Covered campaign, we advocate for employer-led solutions that recognize obesity as a chronic condition, expand coverage for effective treatment options, and work against weight bias in workplace culture.

CHC remains committed to improving access to care and creating healthier communities. As we work alongside AWHP and other partners, we encourage employers to prioritize obesity care coverage in the same way they approach preventive care for diseases like diabetes and heart disease. This initiative aligns with our vision — a world where every person in every community has an opportunity to live their healthiest life. Learn more about the campaign at everybodycovered.org.
