CHC: Creating Healthier Communities and the State of Colorado Partner to Sustain the Legacy of the Colorado Combined Campaign

This partnership honors a decades-long tradition of Colorado’s generosity by bringing new leadership and strengthened support to one of the nation’s most impactful workplace giving campaigns.

Denver, CO (June 30, 2025) — CHC: Creating Healthier Communities and the Colorado state government employees are proud to announce a powerful new partnership to preserve and strengthen the Colorado Combined Campaign (CCC)—the state’s official workplace giving program for government and higher education employees.

This collaboration marks more than just the continuation of a campaign—it represents the enduring spirit of generosity and civic duty that has defined Colorado’s public workforce for nearly four decades. When the CCC’s future was put at risk earlier this year following the unexpected closure of its previous campaign manager, the CCC Advisory Committee and CHC stepped in to ensure that state employees could continue doing what they’ve always done so well: uplift the communities they call home.

Each year, the CCC connects thousands of dedicated public servants with hundreds of Colorado nonprofit organizations. Their giving powers life-changing work—feeding families, sheltering survivors, protecting the environment, improving health, and addressing the barriers to health so all can thrive. Last year alone, Colorado state government employees contributed more than half a million dollars to nonprofit organizations serving communities across the state.

On July 7, the Colorado Combined Campaign relaunches for the remainder of 2025 with special solicitation period, renewing a shared commitment to service, connection and collective action.  Donors whose 2025 contributions were disrupted can resume their payroll deduction pledges securely at cccgives.org, while employees who missed last year’s window will have a new opportunity to give. The 2026 campaign will open officially in the fall.

“Colorado State employees put their faith in the volunteers and professionals who oversee the CCC. We have worked hard over the past few months to revitalize the program with the same security and diligence to make sure pledges go where they are intended,” said CCC Executive Board Chair Doug Platt.

“CHC is honored to carry forward the legacy of the Colorado Combined Campaign alongside the public servants who have long championed this effort,” said Jean Accius, President and CEO of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. “This partnership is about more than sustaining a campaign—it’s about strengthening a movement of generosity and connection. Together, we’re helping nonprofits continue their vital work and building healthier communities across Colorado.”

Established by executive order in 1987, the CCC empowers employees to support vetted, mission-driven nonprofits through secure, convenient tax-deductible contributions. Employees can donate by payroll deduction, credit card, check, or one-time gift—offering flexibility to match every donor’s preference. Participants may direct their donations to individual nonprofits or to groups of organizations known as federations. From healthcare and education to environmental protection and child advocacy, CCC nonprofits address many of Colorado’s most urgent needs.

“CHC is always prepared to support public employee campaigns that strengthen local communities,” said Morgan Zehner, Executive Vice President & Chief Growth Officer at CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. “We bring national experience and a deep commitment to service, helping ensure that the generosity of state and local government employees reaches the organizations doing vital work on the ground.”

The CCC is governed by an all-volunteer Advisory Committee composed of representatives from state agencies who establish campaign guidelines and ensure that all participating nonprofits meet strict standards for fiscal responsibility and community impact. CHC: Creating Healthier Communities partners with nearly 1,400 nonprofit organizations across the U.S. and disperses funds to around 5,000 nonprofit organizations through workplace giving programs each year.

Nonprofits and federations interested in joining the 2026 campaign will soon be able to apply for participation through the CCC website. All participants must reapply annually. Contributions made through the CCC are tax-deductible under federal law.
