CHC Salon: Advancing Community Health Together

Join us for an intimate gathering of leaders and partners advancing better health for all. Hosted by CHC: Creating Healthier Communities, this salon fosters collaboration, shares insights, and inspires new investments in community health.

For nearly 70 years, CHC has united nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders to break down barriers to well-being. This event spotlights those partnerships—from improving maternal health to expanding vaccination access and addressing root causes of health challenges. Together, we’ll celebrate impact, elevate voices, and spark dialogue on creating healthier, more resilient communities.

Indya Hairston (MODERATOR)
Founder and CEO of Community Speaks Consulting

Indya Hairston, MPH and DrPH student at Johns Hopkins, is a dedicated advocate for community-based research and health equity. Founder of Community Speaks Consulting, she leverages expertise in program management, evaluation, and community engagement to address health disparities, amplify marginalized voices, and advance equitable outcomes for Black and Brown families.

April Reid
Wellness Program Manager, Center for Black Women’s Wellness

April Reid, Wellness Program Manager at the Center for Black Women’s Wellness, oversees program operations, grants, and reporting. With prior leadership at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and experience launching a Parent Information and Resource Center, she brings expertise in public administration, cultural understanding, and community empowerment.

Demetrius Geiger
Program Manager, CHC: Creating Healthier Communities

Demetrius Geiger, MPH, is Program Manager in CHC’s Impact Department and a passionate advocate for healthy births and families. Committed to empowering under-resourced communities, she bridges gaps in healthcare access, integrates community voices into initiatives, and fosters collaboration to drive lasting, transformative health outcomes.

Linda Jackson
Founder and CEO, Association for Community Empowerment Solutions (ACESWorld)

Linda Jackson, CEO of the Association of Community Empowerment Solutions (ACESWorld), advances global education and reproductive health initiatives in the U.S., Colombia, Haiti, and Uganda. With a graduate certificate in International Development, she builds strategic partnerships, leads teacher training, and consults internationally to improve education for children living in poverty.

Rosie Harrison
Executive Director, GROW Initiative GA

Guadalupe “Rosie” Harrison, Founder and CEO of GROW Initiative GA, champions equity, inclusivity, and cultural diversity. Guided by her Mexican heritage, she partners with organizations to address food security, healthcare access, and education. Rosie’s data-driven, culturally sensitive work uplifts underserved communities, particularly non-native English speakers and individuals with disabilities in Coastal Georgia.

Tiah Tomlin-Harris
Co-Founder and CEO, My Style Matters

Tiah Tomlin-Harris, MS, a triple-negative breast cancer survivor, co-founded My Style Matters, Inc., to address health disparities and empower women. Nationally recognized with awards including President Bush’s Point of Light, she advocates through education, research, and policy, dedicating her life to improving Black women’s health and advancing breast cancer awareness.

Merica Mitchell
Doula/Family Support Coordinator, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia

A passionate advocate for women and families, Mericia Mitchell draws on her roles as wife, mother, doula, and educator to guide women through childbirth with confidence and joy. She replaces fear with excitement, helping families embrace birth as a unique, sacred, and transformative experience.

Neil Nicholson
Neil Nicholson, Black Birthing Initiative Participant

Neil Nicholson, a wife, mother of three, former educator, and educational consultant, is a dedicated advocate for healthy families and lifelong learning. Her passion for parenting and knowledge inspired her to join the Black Birthing Initiative, strengthening her commitment to empowering families through informed, confident, and connected birth experiences.

Morgan Zehner
Vice President & Chief Growth Officer, CHC: Creating Healthier Communities

Morgan Zehner is a seasoned nonprofit leader with 25 years of experience as an executive director, consultant, social entrepreneur, and fundraising executive. Having partnered with over 100 organizations and raised hundreds of millions of dollars, he joins CHC to drive community health innovation, guided by his values of service and collaboration.
